Intro to College Life

Hi,

So to summarize my first week into college life has been a tremendous change in my life, and I have never been out of my comfort zone this far in my life. Oh yeah, I'm an international student from Indonesia and lots of thing that affect the way I used to live for the first week in Canada and especially in the college life.

The first thing that affect takes real impact is the weather and no kidding, when I arrived at 30th December and got outside of the airport I immediately thought that “This is going to be a hard decision to go through”.

In addition to that, my wife’s visa process was delayed and she will be coming at end of the January. So, that makes me felt so anxious all the time and I have no one to talk to. That was before I moved to this Airbnb place and has a very warmth and good host to talk to, Mei and Gilles help me recover from the feelings that had let me down for many days.

And so, the first week of the college has begun and I had the feeling of excitement but on the other hand, there’s this feeling in my heart that doesn’t let me have all the excitement to get out. Probably because I have a lot to worry because I haven’t found a place to stay or the thought of not doing good in the study because this is all new to me, the language, the assignment and the way the educational process works, or maybe I just overthinking everything.

But I believe everything will be fine and just like Paul McCartney wrote on his lyrics “Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be”. I just hold that words in my mind and let things just slowly happened and try to embrace the process. As the day goes by, I found many things to cope with and to carry on. I have signed to join as a badminton player through campus recreation and wellness centre website and last but not least, to me the teachers are very welcoming and helping in so many ways. So, Cheers for the many weeks to come and hopefully things will get better!
